Yesterday, late at night (11:45 PM), myself and JP were talking - if ever my wife decides to divorce me you know whom to blame :-). JPsaid that most of the stutterers he had met, wallow in self-pity and don't live their life - he used a nice Haryanvi term for them - Khatam Singh - Mr. Finished Goods is a rough English translation.

And I realised how true it is. We are always so much engrossed about our stuttering that we forget to live our life. Life begins and ends with our speech, we simply forget that there is much else to life besides stuttering. We tend to blame stuttering for all our troubles, all our failures.

If we couldn't find a job - blame goes to stuttering; don't have a girl friend - stuttering is a convenient scape goat. The recurring dream is that our stuttering has gone and we have taken over the world by a storm :-)

I know that like much of well-meaning advice, it is much easier to say than actually implement, but try to take stuttering as just another part of your larger persona. Like somebody is tall, short, dark, fair, fat, slip we are stutterers - nothing more nothing less. And don't let what you don't have affect, what you can. Believe me there will be a world of difference in your life.

P.S. I have been very busy lately in nurturing our IT venture and therefore much less active on TISA. Please excuse me, these are initial days of our venture and I have to put lots of effort in it. But hopefully once things are streamlined, I will be able to sit back and see younsters taking the responsibility and make it grow :-)
