Chennai SHG started many years ago on the Marina beach under the statue of Gandhi ji. The members moved on in life. Mr Manimaran continued making himself available for people in need for information and counseling ever since. This group had a big public awareness meeting on 24th Jan 2009 which was covered by local papers and people from all walks of life participated. Even a police man came and spoke of his feelings and issues with speech. Their contact details are as follows:

Coordinator : V. Manimaran, (52 Yrs) A senior Engineer working in a Govt of Tamil Nadu Organization. Started    self help group in Chennai in 2001 at Marina Beach. Not bothered about stammering now a days especially after joining TISA! His thrust is to help PWS develop self acceptance. Communication improves as a result.

Asst.Coordinator I: S.Sivasuramanian, (59 Yrs) A retired Engineer from a Govt organization. Overcame stammering at the age of 25. He is a best friend of the Coordinator and devoting his retired life for this cause. No more retired now!

Asst. Coordinator II: Vishal Dadha (35 Yrs), A business man. Very dynamic young man and very supportive to the self help group. He successfully protested to ASCI and got a Yahoo ad in poor taste removed in September 2008. (link1 and link 2)

Asst Coordinator III : Hassanand (51 Yrs), A textile business man. Not at all bothered about his stammering even before joining TISA ! But he cares for others, especially young people who are facing this issue.  He is doing an excellent job as PRO of Chennai chapter.
